2006 Grant Opportunities-

-Community
  • Healthy Marriage Community Programs
PURPOSE:
The mission of ACF's Healthy Marriage Initiative is to help couples that choose to marry
gain greater access to marriage education services that enable them to acquire the skills
and knowledge necessary to form and sustain healthy marriages. ACF is particularly
interested in supporting marriage education and marriage enrichment projects specifically
designed for couples. This includes, but is not limited to, married couples, engaged
couples, and couples interested in marriage.   (National Instute of Health Information Services)
Letters of Intent are due by May 30, 2006.
Applications are due by June, 30, 2006.



Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
TANF recipients; at-risk youth; custodial and non-custodial parents; residents of
public housing; persons with disabilities; persons who are homeless; or individuals
transitioning from incarceration into the community.

Application deadline: Applications accepted on an ongoing basis.
Grants for prevention of family violence/abuse and/or child abduction.

-Youth Grant Programs
Children Who Volunteer: Are more likely to do well in school, graduate, vote and
be philanthropic. Are 50 percent less likely to engage in destructive behavior,
abuse drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. Nominating a Kid Who Cares
YouthActionNet will present awards to youth leaders and emerging projects that
promote social change and connect youth with local communities. The
YouthActionNet Awards are supported by Make a Connection, a global initiative
of the
International Youth Foundation and Nokia.
Announces Second Year of Domestic Grantmaking Program.  Through this effort,
unsolicited applications for funds from organizations working to benefit children in
need in the United States are accepted. Organizations with 501(c)(3) public
charity status that are able to demonstrate they directly serve children in need
may be eligible for grants of $5,000 up to $25,000.
Ideal Community Partner candidates should serve children from low-income or
disadvantaged backgrounds; own and provide land for the playground; agree to
own, insure, and maintain the playground for the lifetime of the playground; be
able to raise and contribute up to $10,000 cash toward the cost of equipment;
and have the ability to recruit volunteers to participate in planning committees
and to help build the playground.
